Details of the upcoming outing are as follows:

Venue: Sentosa beach
Date: 1 May 2009
Time: Meet at 10 am at Harbourfront (as usual, haha)
Purpose: Picnic fun & Get-together

Activities: Picnic*, cycling, group games, ball games, play cards, build sandcastles, water play and whatever else u wish to do . but try not to stone, of cos :P

What to bring: YOURSELF + balls, cards etc + basic you-know-what stuff

important!
*PICNIC - pot luck style, please take note
- it is highly encouraged for everyone to bring some simple picnic food (tag on the blog what u are going to bring)
- the food brought has to be still edible when it's time to eat (bring food dat dun spoil easily? lol)
- bring other picnic stuff (eg picnic mat) that u might have (let me know if u can bring)
- i know it's troublesome, but we get to sit under the coconut tree and eat and chat and laugh and enjoy the sea breeze at the same time. so just for the fun of it la x)
- still, if u really don't want it, please say.
- but having a picnic is fun la, really, haha.

Hey everyone, I managed to book the BBQ Pit so here are the details for our gathering :)

Date/Day: 27th December 2008/Saturday

Time: 5pm to 11pm

Venue: Lynette's house BBQ Pit 2

Address: 2 Boon Lay Drive #05-06 Summerdale (s)649925

Buses: 30, 154, 187, 180, 187

Directions: Take MRT to Boon Lay and take any of the above buses to my house. Alight the first stop. Maybe you all could meet at Boon Lay and take the bus together, I think most of the girls (in fact all except Mar) been to my house before plus Yongjian and Aaron so maybe you all could bring the others here! :)

For those people whose parents are sending them here, my house is actually opposite Jurong Fire Station, near Jurong Point, and in between Lakeside and Boon Lay MRT. If you get lost, feel free to call me!

Since it's the christmas season, I think Kevin and some others suggested having a gift exchange. So remember to bring along a gift that is wrapped and of budget below $10. I was also thinking of dressing up according to the christmas colours, hahah what do you think? Like come dressed in RED or/and GREEN just for the fun of it. Hahaha any objections?

Okay I think that's about it, please kindly RSVP to my handphone if you havent already done so. I need to know the numbers so I'll know how much food to prepare and how much to collect from you all. IF weird drops of moisture start falling from the sky (i cant say that WORD.) (CHOY CHOY CHOYYYYYY) IF. EEF. Or actually IF the sun seems to be hidden behind some awfully greyish looking things, WE WILL NOT CYCLE AND HEAD TO THE NEAREST ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE WHERE WE CAN..... ENTERTAIN OURSELVES. INDOORS.

People, please repeat after me. "CHOY. CHOY. CHOY." Kindly touch the nearest wooden object you can find and use super glue to stick yourself to it.

Plans of where to go after that can be discussed and decided upon on the day itself as usual. Just make sure there is some place that is out of nowhere, where we can crowd around to talk about it for about half an hour.

Hope you all can make it yeah? We should enjoy each others' company as a class while we can. (:

hope everyone's doing fine, not stressing too much over doing 40 questions in 1h15mins. anyway, in case you still don't know, we have an activity after physics! sounds exciting doesn't it.

we're gonna play some badminton at bishan sports complex from 10am-12nn, so please bring some rackets and clothes if you're interested in joining. rackets are very much preferred. we have three courts to ourselves and should we need a fourth, given our numbers we should be able to use some 'moral suasion' to get a fourth. oh and keep thinking of activities we could do during the holidays too if you can, so everyone can get together occasionally.

following that, we'll have our traditional activity of having an outing at sentosa. it's probably gonna be on wednesday (19th nov) unless there are violent objections, which actually are unlikely to be heeded. time'll be decided in the following days so just wait for a confirmation. if you have beach stuff at home, do bring some down. like balls and frisbees and stuff.

on a side note, we're planning to have a class tee so if you have good, reliable contacts for shirt making do contribute. suggestions for designs for the class tee are also very very welcome. if not we'll have to nominate someone's pw group to head this project.

in the meantime, as we all await the 18th, keep healthy and stay cool. as marvin once said, "Time to focus on MCQs!" but don't mug too hard and stay stress free!

kaizhong wants me to let you guys know that "Lol wee wee cant wake up early so he push e lesson bk to 9.30am" instead of 9am. venue remains the same - tb11. He'll "go thru specimen paper2 & 07 paper2. Try to do 1st if possible. Lol". the 07 paper2 refers to 07 a'level paper 2, though kaizhong "dun rmb" him giving it to us. neither do i. kaizhong reckons specimen paper refers to "that collation of organic chem ques". i reckon it's time to ransack the pile of chem stuffs collecting dust in one corner of our rooms.

that's all for the announcement. do make use of the holidays to mug chem and physics to pull up your marks if you'd screwed paper 3 up. esp physics, in case yong calls us complacent again. in the words of marvin, "Time to focus on MCQs!"

Here i shall share with you a very nice place to study - Bishan Community Library. At Bishan Library, they have excellent facilities and of course, reference materials. Below are some pictures illustrating how the reference materials attracted and enlightened both me and lumpy.

GIVING SAD NEWS TO A TROOP

The Captain called the Sergeant in. "Sarge, I just got a telegram that Private Jones' mother died yesterday. Better go tell him and send him in to see me."

So the Sergeant calls for his morning formation and lines up all the troops. "Listen up, men," says the Sergeant. "Johnson, report to the mess hall for KP. Smith, report to Personnel to sign some papers. The rest of you men report to the Motor Pool for maintenance. Oh by the way, Jones, your mother died, report to the commander."

Later that day the Captain called the Sergeant into his office. "Hey, Sarge, that was a pretty cold way to inform Jones his mother died. Couldn't you be a bit more tactful, next time?"

RECRUITING ANY OR ALL PILOTS

The chief of staff of the US Air Force decided that he would personally intervene in the recruiting crisis affecting all of our armed services. He directed a nearby Air Force base that will be opened and that all eligible young men and women be invited.

As he and his staff were standing near a brand new F-15 Fighter, a pair of twin brothers who looked like they had just stepped off a Marine Corps recruiting poster walked up to them. The chief of staff walked up to them, stuck out his hand and introduced himself.

Work in the Dark?

A doctor of psychology was doing his normal morning rounds, and he entered a patient's room to find his patient sitting on the floor, sawing at a piece of wood with the side of his hand.

Meanwhile, another patient was in the room, hanging from the ceiling by his feet.

The doctor asked his patient what he was doing, sitting on the floor.
The patient replied in an irritated fashion, "Can't you see I'm sawing this piece of wood in half?"

The doctor inquired, "And what is the fellow hanging from the ceiling doing?"
"Oh. He's my friend, but he's a little crazy. He thinks he's a lightbulb."

The doctor asks, "If he's your friend, don't you think you should get him down from there before he hurts himself?"

The basketball coach stormed into the university president's office and demanded a raise right then and there.

It was Christmas and the judge was in a benevolent mood as he questioned the prisoner. "What are you charged with?" he asked.
"Doing my Christmas shopping early," replied the defendant.
"That's no offense," replied the judge. "How early were you doing this shopping?"
"Before the store opened," countered the prisoner.

Crazy Not Stupid?

It was dusk time when a man had a flat tire right in front of a mental health hospital. After unscrewing the four nuts of the flat tire, he noticed that a hospital patient is watching him from over a nearby embankment. He managed to step on the hubcap in which he had carefully placed the nuts. To his dismay, the nuts went flying into the grass on the side of the road. So he got on his hands and knees and started searching in vain for the nuts in the semi-darkness.

A few minutes later he heard the mental patient chuckle, so he shouted at him irritably, "What are you laughing at?"

The other guy explained: "Well, you have three other tires, each of which has four nuts... If you were to take one nut from each, you'll end up with four tires being held in place with three nuts per tire. This should be safe enough for you to drive to the next town over, where you can buy a new set of nuts."

Embarrassed, the poor car driver couldn't help asking, "How come you're so clever and you're in a mental hospital?"

The patient replied, "I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid!"

At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the

with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving
$25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon."

In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release
stating:

If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving
cars with the following characteristics:

1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash........Twice a day.

2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to
buy a new car.

3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You
would have to pull to the side of the road, close all of the windows,
shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could
continue. For some reason you would simply accept this .

4. Occasionally, executing a manoeuvre such as a left turn would
cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you
would have to reinstall the engine.

5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was
reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would

Okay, so as to make this blog more slightly more interesting, I'm going to post the pictures of our class outing to Sentosa last Tuesday! :)
